Carlo Repetto from the Armory Show
Good morning and good afternoon where ever you are in the Art World!
Today we are welcoming Paolo Repetto who will guide us once again through another extraordinary fair The Armory Show, in NEW YORK'S ART FAIRJAVITS CENTERSEPTEMBER 9–11, 2022 through his extraordinary “ARTE POVERA from its origins to the progression on contemporary”
He will show us a glimpse of how Fontana and Melotti ‘s extreme essential nature have influenced all the protagonists of the so-called Arte Povera and Conceptual Art: Carla Accardi - Alighiero Boetti - Pier Paolo Calzolari - Jorge Eduardo Eielson - Lucio Fontana Jannis Kounellis - Fausto Melotti - Giulio Paolini - Giuseppe Penone - Arcangelo Sassolino.
After their first Baroque period, especially that of ceramic sculptures, they both chose a language based on subtraction, sacrifice, the Void…. From the 1960s onwards, all the other artists have deepened this research between new materials and a new aesthetic founded now on the game; now on the historical conscience; now on mirror surfaces, as a break from the static nature of the traditional painting in the discovery of the fourth dimension, time; now in the experimentation with iron, coal, neon, salt, lead, tobacco, bronze, wood, flame, ice, etc., creating new works…
Founded in 2007, Repetto Gallery is a modern and contemporary art gallery located in London.
