“Shifting Balance “between sacred and profane”

with artist Nicole Colombo, curator Rossella Farinotti, Leonardo Caldonazzo Arvedi, Owner and founder of II Triangolo Art Gallery, and Mauro Mattei founder of MMAT (Mauro Mattei Art Trust), and with Marta Orsola Sironi founder of BeAdvisory.

The Art Talks are delighted to welcome you all to another inspiring Art Talk to celebrate the beginning of the summer with Artist Nicole Colombo who will guide us through her exhibition  “Shifting Balance “between sacred and profane” curated by Rossella Farinotti, and special intervention of Leonardo Caldonazzo  Arvedi , owner and founder of II Triangolo Art Gallery , Mauro Mattei founder of MMAT (Mauro Mattei Art Trust), and with Marta Orsola Sironi founder of BeAdvisory.

“In the border zone between discomfort and comfort, between power dynamics and the power of fragility, between love and lust, pain and vulnerability, libido and repulsion, body and narrative, the artist opens up spaces of freedom and resistance.”

Nicole Colombo will guide through her recent exhibition in Cremona. Shifting Balance ”is Nicole Colombo’s attempt to dismantle any idea of dichotomy that is established in our relationship with the world, inviting the viewers to question themself and embrace the duality of existence. In the border zone between discomfort and comfort, between power dynamics and the power of fragility, between love and lust, pain and vulnerability, libido and repulsion, body and narrative, the artist opens up spaces of freedom and resistance.”

Nicole Colombo extrapolates the use of space, the artworks’ staging and the capability to sharply define an original vocabulary through the use of materials. Her domestic and large-scale sculptures and installations create a tension in the space and in the observer as they possess a sortof living energy, while the chosen materials and their combination result to be at the same time libidinal and repulsive

Leather, aluminum, synthetic hairs, chains, plexiglass, latex and hooks give birth to an impeccable and highly aestheticized vision in order to attract the viewers and introduce them to a wider range of possibilities as a lens to approach reality…

But … What is your reality ?

Nicole Colombo (b.1991, Italy). Far from a sort of educated “italian approach”, the artist is imposing an aesthetic that is much closer to that of the two Berlin-based artists Monica Bonvicini and Anne Imhof - both solid starting points of her research and imaginary. From them, Nicole Colombo extrapolates the use of space, the artworks’ staging and the capability to sharply define an original vocabulary through the use of materials.

Nicole Colombo’s domestic and large-scale sculptures and installations create a tension in the space and in the observer as they possess a sort of living energy, while the chosen materials and their combination result to be at the same time libidinal and repulsive. An anthropological approach stands at the core of her research: the artist observes the dichotomies that often characterize the western societies and the difficulty of the human being to accept their co-existence. Leveraging our common imaginary, her attempt gives back to the observer artworks that represent the duality of things, creating abstract characters that portrait each of us.

Leather, aluminum, synthetic hairs, chains, plexiglass, latex and hooks give birth to an impeccable and highly aestheticized vision in order to attract the viewers and introduce them to a wider range of possibilities as a lens to approach reality.

In the border zone between discomfort and comfort, between power dynamics and the power of fragility, between love and lust, pain and vulnerability, libido and repulsion, body and narrative, the artist opens up spaces of freedom and resistance.

Art Trust

Identifying the best strategy for the conservation and enhancement of an art collection is certainly one of every collector’s recurring thoughts. Art Trusts are one of the best tools for an efficient wealth planning and for the generational transfer of artistic assets; they are able to provide a unitary and organized management of the collection, protect their assets from external aggressions and, at the same time, satisfy collector's wishes in the field of patronage and philanthropy.

Who will be speaking?

Maria Linares Freire

With my work I am on a journey through time and space looking for metaphysical answers to the secrets of the Universe. The relativity of time, rebirth, evolution, love, quantum entanglement, landscapes inspired by mythological stories, there is no limit to my imagination as there are no limits for numbers. My passion for geometry and nature has led me to my fascination with science, the symmetrical structures of the microcosms and macrocosms which has been capturing my attention for the last few years.

I was born in Andalucia, Spain, then I moved to London in 1998 where I developed my artistic career. Since 2015 I have been exhibiting in many iconic places of London, Rome, Milan, Athens and the most special, the Moon. Winner of 10 international awards including the Leonardo da Vinci International Prize, Dante Alighieri Award , Face of Peace Award and Artist of the Future among others.

Editor for the Arts for the Magazine Revue{R}evolution, a polymath review of poetry, mythology, metaphysics and art. Cultural Strategist for The Polymath Agency. Since February 2023 I have joined the futuristic Holo Art Collective, where art and science meets human and machine.

Damitta

I’m a fine artist and urban artist from Spain based in London since 2016.

I have been painting for more than 17 years using different mediums and techniques such as oils, acrylic, pencils...but my passion is street Art.

I fell in love with muralism around 15 years ago. The big dimensions and the fact that you are in the street makes me feel a strong connection with the

environment bringing art to people in a natural and spontaneous way.

Exploring women's identity and how nature enhances our beauty through light and shadows is the inspiration for my work. My designs bring a fine arts vision of the woman figure to the street art culture

My style is figurative with influences of art nouveau, impressionism combined with street art and illustration. Light and colours are essential in my paintings.

Light has the ability to provoke emotions and light levels can directly influence our mood. I want to raise those feelings through my art.
